Parent Involvement Policy
The School for the Visual Arts and Humanities has taken steps to ensure that your children are exposed to high quality instruction and have the academic and social support needed to be successful. However, many of our students are not achieving at the levels of which we know they are capable and which will guarantee them a better future.
Because research shows that in addition to having an effective teacher, the single most important factor in a child’s success in school is the high expectations and active support of his/her parent, the Governing Board of the School for the Visual Arts and Humanities voted in June 2010 to adopt a PARENT INVOLVEMENT POLICY for the school.
Beginning in Fall 2010, all families are required to participate in their child’s school for a minimum of 10 hours per year.
